74-Year-Old Woman Marries Her Calf, Believes It Holds Her Late Husband’s Spirit 😐 + Photos

According to Saed News’ Society Service, citing Eghtesad Online, a Cambodian woman’s unconventional marriage to a calf has captured widespread attention. Keim Hang, 74, believes her deceased husband has been reincarnated in the animal.

Hang, who lives in northeastern Krati Province, says she married the cow because she wants to always be with her late husband, claiming the animal exhibits behaviors similar to him.

In one widely circulated photo, Hang is seen sitting with the cow in her room. She has built a large bed inside her home specifically for the animal. While images of the marriage ceremony itself have not been released, local villagers claim they attended the event.

Hang frequently bathes the cow and then guides it to her room and onto the bed. She places the same pillows her late husband Tol Kehot used on the bed so the cow can rest its head there. “When the cow kissed my forehead and followed me upstairs, I was convinced it was my husband’s spirit reincarnated,” Hang said. “I believe this calf is my former husband because everything it does mirrors exactly how he behaved when he was alive.”

Remarkably, Hang’s son also believes his mother, insisting he can sense his father’s spirit in the animal. Hang has prohibited her children from selling or mistreating the cow and has instructed them to care for it as they would a human. She has further emphasized that when the cow dies, it should be mourned and buried like a person.
