SAEDNEWS: In June, NBC announced that Jost would be covering the surfing event from Teahupo’o, Tahiti for the summer games.
According to SAEDNEWS, Colin Jost, the 42-year-old anchor of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update,” recently revealed his unfortunate toe injury while commentating on the surfing event in Tahiti for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Jost shared a photo on Instagram showcasing three of his toes bandaged, along with a noticeable cut on his middle toe. In his typical humorous fashion, he quipped in the caption, “You know it’s going great when you’ve been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes.”
This isn’t the first time Jost has documented his foot mishaps during his time in Tahiti. On Friday, July 26, he posted another bloody snapshot featuring his toes, stating, “This might ruin my WikiFeet score but I just arrived in Tahiti for the surfing Olympics and the reef was excited to greet me#paris2024 #showfeet.”
Back in June, NBC announced Jost's assignment to cover the surfing event from Teahupo’o, Tahiti, for the summer games. Surfing will make its second Olympic appearance, having made its debut during the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021. The surfing events are set to take place from July 27 to July 31, according to the Olympics' official website.
Earlier this month, Jost’s wife, Scarlett Johansson, playfully remarked about his Olympic gig during a July 8 appearance on the Today show. Host Savannah Guthrie commented on the situation, “It's even worse of a boondoggle than Paris, which we're already getting away with - he's going to Tahiti to cover surfing. What?” Johansson, 39, couldn’t help but laugh as she added, “Is that even — how did he get this gig? I just want to know.”
