A Bitter End for the Lur Girl: How Did the 17-Year-Old Girl Lose Her Life?

According to the Saed News incident service, quoting Hamshahri:
Last Wednesday, a man went to the Red Crescent office in Khorramabad and reported the disappearance of his teenage daughter. He said: “Yesterday (Tuesday), my 17-year-old daughter said she wanted to go to the library and left the house; but by evening, despite waiting, she did not return home. Worried, we tried calling her mobile phone, but she didn’t answer. That night, we searched the whole city looking for her but to no avail, so we decided to ask the police and the Red Crescent for help.”

Initial investigations showed that the teenage girl had left home upset and took an online taxi to the Kamalvand area around the city, after which she went missing. Police forensic investigations revealed that the last mobile phone signal of the 17-year-old girl was in that area. Although the family reported her missing with a one-day delay, it was possible she was still nearby. In this situation, teams from the Red Crescent were dispatched to the area to start the search.

Search with the help of rescue dogs
The family was anxious and restless about her fate. Rescue workers used all their resources to find the missing girl and ease the family’s worries. Multiple rescue teams were searching and monitoring the area, and they also used search dogs. The family provided one of her clothes so the dogs could track her scent. Rescue workers searched all surrounding gardens and villages but found no trace of the girl. No one knew what had happened to her, and her whereabouts remained unknown. Nevertheless, the search efforts continued.

Third day
The family’s anxiety over the missing girl had deprived them of sleep and food. Their only thought was for her safety and return home. Three days after she went missing, the search was ongoing until the rescue teams reached Kamalvand camp, a recreational area 5 kilometers from Khorramabad, located in the heights. The rescue dogs led them there, and when they went to the upper part of the camp, they astonishingly found the lifeless body of the teenage girl sitting on a step. There were no signs of injury on her body, but sunburn indicated she had died on the first day and her body had been exposed to the sun.

The discovery of the girl’s body was reported to the police, and with officers present, the body was transferred to forensic medicine.

Alireza Hosseinbeigi, CEO of Khorramabad Red Crescent, told Hamshahri about this tragic event: “My colleagues used all their strength and resources to find the teenage girl, but unfortunately, she had lost her life. The exact cause of her death has not yet been determined, and the police and forensic medicine will provide information on this.”
