½ cup brown sugar

¼ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

500 grams cream cheese, at room temperature

½ cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

For the Apple Layer:

3 cups chopped apples (3-4 medium apples)

1 tablespoon sugar

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

For the Topping:

½ cup rolled oats

½ cup flour

½ cup (100 grams) ground almonds

½ cup (110 grams) butter, at room temperature

½ cup brown sugar

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 20×30 cm baking pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

Make the Crust: In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (flour, brown sugar, ground almonds, salt, and cinnamon). Add the butter and combine using a fork until the mixture forms crumbs. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly in the pan.

Prepare the Apples: Meanwhile, mix the chopped apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then set aside.

Make the Cream Cheese Layer: Beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla, grated lemon zest, and eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour the mixture over the baked crust and spread it evenly. Add the apple mixture on top.

Prepare the Topping: In a bowl, mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ground almonds. Add the butter and combine using a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the apple layer. Bake for another 30-35 minutes. Remove from the oven, let it cool, cut into squares, and decorate with caramel sauce before serving.

Enjoy!
