Ingredients for Mocha Coffee

  • Coffee: 30 ml

  • Chocolate powder: 15 grams

  • Cocoa powder: 15 grams

  • Milk: 100 ml

  • Water: As needed

Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Mocha Coffee

To prepare your delicious mocha coffee or mochaccino, follow these steps carefully:

Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Sauce

Mix the cocoa powder and chocolate powder together, then add some boiling water and stir until it reaches a caramel-like syrup consistency.

Step 2: Brew the Coffee

Prepare the coffee. If you have a coffee maker, fill the bottom reservoir with two cups of water and add coffee grounds to the upper chamber until full. Place it over medium heat and remove it immediately once it starts boiling. If making coffee without a machine, mix coffee grounds and some cold water in a pot, then place it over medium heat. Remove it from heat once it starts boiling.

Step 3: Prepare the Milk and Foam

Heat some of the milk until it is nearly boiling but do not let it boil. Reserve some milk for making the foam and decorating. To make the milk foam, pour the warm milk (about 60 degrees Celsius) into a French press, filling it halfway. Pump the French press handle up and down to create the desired foam. Alternatively, you can use a handheld whisk to create the foam by whisking the warm milk back and forth.

Step 4: Serve and Decorate the Café Mocha

Take a glass and first pour the prepared chocolate sauce into it, followed by the aromatic coffee and then the steamed milk. Finally, add the milk foam on top.

For decoration, you can use whipped cream and a sprinkle of vanilla or cinnamon.

Important Tips

  • You can use ready-made chocolate sauces instead of chocolate powder.

  • If you prefer a slightly bitter taste, melt a few pieces of dark chocolate using the double boiler method (place the chocolate pieces in a bowl over simmering water and stir until melted) and add it to the mixture.

  • It's recommended to use espresso, but if you don't like the strong taste of espresso, use brewed coffee, which has a milder bitterness.

  • For a quicker preparation without layering, you can heat the coffee and cold water over medium heat until boiling, then remove from heat. Heat the milk and add chocolate pieces, stirring until dissolved. Add sugar, coffee, and cream to the milk, constantly stirring over low heat until thickened. Pour into your desired glass, decorate, and enjoy.

  • Mocha coffee can also be served cold. After preparation, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

  • You can use ice cream instead of whipped cream for a different twist.
