According to Saed News’ political service, citing Hamshahri, Joe Biden said Wednesday during a visit to a World War II memorial in Scranton, Pennsylvania—where his uncle Ambrose Finnegan’s name is listed—that cannibals in New Guinea ate his uncle after his plane went down during the war.
This claim contradicts military records, which indicate that Ambrose Finnegan’s plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean. Biden said: “[My uncle’s plane] went down in an area where there were many cannibals at the time. No one ever found his body, but when I visited, the government later managed to recover some wreckage from the site. His plane crashed in New Guinea, and his body was never recovered, because at that time, there were indeed a large number of cannibals living in the area.”
