SAEDNEWS: China-US relations took a step toward stability following a phone conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump, which Chinese media described as positive and constructive.
According to China Central Television (CCTV), President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of remembering shared history, saying:
“The Chinese people will not forget the valuable assistance provided by the United States and other countries of the anti-fascist coalition during the war of resistance against Japan. We must honor the fallen heroes, value peace, and build a future based on historical memory.”
Xi also highlighted the significance of China-US relations, noting that both nations can support each other’s growth, pursue joint prosperity, and generate benefits for the world.
Following the call, former President Donald Trump described the conversation as “very productive,” pointing to progress on key issues such as China-US trade, the fentanyl crisis, the TikTok deal, and the war in Ukraine.
On Truth Social, Trump elaborated:
“We made progress on many very important issues including Trade, Fentanyl, and the need to bring the war between Russia and Ukraine to an end.”
The dialogue marks a rare moment of direct engagement, highlighting the potential for diplomacy, historical reflection, and practical cooperation between two of the world’s largest powers.
