SAEDNEWS: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei congratulated the national freestyle wrestling team for becoming 2025 world champions, commending the athletes for their extraordinary attempts and admirable conduct.
Ayatollah Khamenei issued a message on Tuesday night, congratulating Iran's national freestyle wrestling team for securing the world championship title at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb.He lauded the remarkable dedication and commendable conduct demonstrated by the freestyle wrestling champions.
On Monday, Iran’s National Freestyle Wrestling Team grabbed the championship title at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Croatia, marking its first triumph in 12 years.The team finished with two gold (Amirhossein Zareh and Rahman Amouzad), two silver (Ahmad Mohammadnejad-Javan and Amirali Azarpira), and three bronze medals (Mohammad Nokhodi, Kamran Ghasempour and Amirhossein Firoozpour), with a tally of 145 points, standing higher than the United States.
"I extend my gratitude to the world champion wrestling team for their astonishing efforts and admirable behavior. The combination of strength and spirituality creates noble values. Well done to you!" the Leader stated.
