SAEDNEWS: Some People in Turkey Move on All Fours, Unlike the Rest of Their Families

According to Saed News, citing Young Journalists Club, in a remote region of Turkey, a family lives that seems to defy four million years of human evolution. Initially identified by Turkish scientists as evidence of “regressive evolution,” this family walks unusually on all fours.

Five siblings, out of 19 children born in the family, move with astonishing agility using both their feet and hands. Walking in this manner is so difficult and unnatural for humans that it is often used as an endurance exercise in the U.S. military.

Early theories suggested that these siblings move as our early ancestors did—on all fours. However, unlike primitive humans, they do not use their fists for support; instead, they walk on their palms, which have developed thick calluses.

Some scientists have labeled their condition as “backward evolution,” though this classification has drawn criticism from other experts. Many argue that walking on all fours in this family is a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

None of the five, now aged between 25 and 41, ever attended school. Yet they have learned enough Kurdish to communicate effectively with their family. The family kept the children’s condition hidden for more than two decades until it was documented by a Turkish scientist and later published by two British researchers in a 2005 paper.
