Why Is Chabahar Called the Pineapple City?

Costa Rica is the largest producer of pineapples in the world, followed by Brazil and the Philippines. In Iran, pineapple cultivation began in 2016, with greenhouse production across the country and natural cultivation along the Makran coasts and in Chabahar.

The reason for the natural cultivation of pineapples in Chabahar is the favorable climate and the region's suitable conditions for growing and nurturing this fruit. The ability to cultivate pineapples in Chabahar has reduced dependency on imports and increased economic profits in the area.
