SAEDNEWS: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in a phone call with Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, has discussed the developments in West Asia and emphasized the need of peace and stability in the region.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a statement released by London’s 10 Downing Street, the office of Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed deep concern regarding the escalating situation in the region. The Prime Minister urged all parties involved to reduce tensions and refrain from further confrontation.
“The risk of miscalculation is serious, and it’s time now for calm and sober consideration,” the statement noted, emphasizing Starmer's appeal to Iran to "refrain from attacking Israel," asserting that “war is not in anyone's interest.”
The Prime Minister also reiterated his commitment to achieving an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, increasing humanitarian aid to the affected areas, and securing the release of all prisoners, emphasizing that these goals can be attained through diplomatic negotiations.
Additionally, the statement highlighted that both leaders agreed on the importance of constructive dialogue between the UK and Iran for the benefit of both nations.
British media characterized the preceding evening as a "busy night of diplomacy" for Starmer, as he engaged in a phone call and issued a joint statement with the heads of the US and three other European countries concerning potential Iranian retaliatory attacks on Israel.
As tensions rise, the anxiety within the Israeli regime continues to increase day by day, particularly as Iran has vowed to retaliate against the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, which they deem a violation of national sovereignty.
