Ingredients for Tomato Pilaf

  • 2 cups of rice

  • 5 medium tomatoes

  • Half of a red bell pepper

  • 1 large garlic clove

  • 100 grams of butter

  • 2 teaspoons of tomato powder and paprika

  • Salt, as needed

You can also use potatoes when making Tomato Pilaf.

How to make Tomato Pilaf

To make this simple and delicious tomato pilaf, first, cut the tomatoes in half and remove their white part. Cut the bell pepper in half and remove the seeds. Now, put the tomatoes, bell pepper, and garlic into a blender and puree them. Then, add the tomato powder and paprika, and blend them a little more.

At this stage, rinse the soaked rice and drain it. Then, put it into a pot and add one cup of water for every two cups of rice. Now, add the blended mixture along with the butter and salt. Place the pot on medium heat. Stir occasionally so that the rice cooks and the water is absorbed.

When the water is almost absorbed, cover the pot, place it on a flame diffuser, and let it steam for 30 minutes. After cooking, turn the delicious tomato pilaf onto a dish and serve it with fresh herbs. Enjoy!

If you want your tomato pilaf to have a crispy bottom, increase the steaming time to 45 minutes.
