- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tbsp tomato paste

- 1 jar grape leaves in brine

- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

- Olive oil

- Salt and pepper

Instructions:

1. Start by sautéing the chopped onions in oil until golden brown. Add minced garlic and ground meat, cooking until the meat is browned. Season with salt and pepper.

2. Stir in the chopped herbs and sauté for a few more minutes.

3. Cook the rice in 3 cups of water with a pinch of salt, then add it to the meat and herb mixture.

4. Mix the tomato paste with a little hot water, then add it to the mixture. Cook for a few more minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

5. Rinse the grape leaves to remove excess brine and lay some oil at the bottom of a baking dish. Place grape leaves to cover the bottom completely.

6. Take a grape leaf and cut off the stem. Place a tablespoon of the meat mixture in the center of the leaf, fold the sides in, and roll it tightly.

7. Arrange the stuffed grape leaves in the dish, seam side down. Squeeze lemon juice into 3/4 cup of water, adding salt to taste. Pour this over the dolmas, cover tightly with foil, and bake at 350°F for about an hour and a half. Add some salted water if needed and bake for an additional half hour.
