SAEDNEWS: Israel’s Shin Bet spy service reportedly prepares a bunker for use by prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials as fear of Iran’s retaliation against a recent terrorist act grows among the regime officials.
According to SAEDNEWS, The Walla news site reported on Sunday that an underground bunker in occupied al-Quds, which remained unused during Israel's ongoing conflict in Gaza, is now fully operational.
Constructed nearly 20 years ago, this bunker is designed to withstand various types of weaponry and features command and control capabilities. It is also directly connected to the headquarters of the Israeli Ministry of Military Affairs in Tel Aviv.
This development comes just days after Israel, with backing from the United States, carried out the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, in Tehran. Following this event, Iranian leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning to the occupying regime, stating that Iran considers it a duty to avenge Haniyeh’s death. This assassination followed another that targeted Fuad Shukr, a senior commander of Hezbollah, in Beirut.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared that Israel has “crossed red lines” with these assassinations and should brace for “rage and revenge on all fronts supporting Gaza.”
In response to the escalating tensions, the al-Quds municipality advised residents to “clean and prepare their bomb shelters in advance,” emphasizing that they should be able to reach these shelters within 90 seconds in case of an emergency.
According to a report by Ynet, the bunker, which was reportedly built for Prime Minister Netanyahu, cost billions of shekels to construct after the conclusion of the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon.
The preparation of the al-Quds bunker for use at this moment may signal the seriousness of the perceived threat posed by Iran and Hezbollah, the report concluded.
