SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian left Tehran for Iraq on Wednesday morning to hold talks with the authorities of the neighboring Arab country.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed from Tehran on Wednesday morning for Iraq to engage in discussions with officials from the neighboring country.
This trip marks Pezeshkian's first official visit outside of Iran and comes at the invitation of Iraq's Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani.
During his visit to Baghdad, Pezeshkian is set to meet with key Iraqi leaders, including President Abdul Latif Rashid, Prime Minister Al Sudani, and Parliament Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi.
In addition to his meetings with government officials, Pezeshkian will also connect with Iranian businesspeople residing in Iraq.
Following his time in Baghdad, the president plans to travel to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, at the invitation of Nechirvan Barzani, the region's head. There, he will hold discussions with Kurdish authorities. Pezeshkian is also scheduled to visit Sulaymaniyeh, another significant Kurdish city in northern Iraq.
This visit highlights the importance of strengthening ties between Iran and Iraq through high-level dialogue and cooperation.
