SAEDNEWS: Head of Iran’s Parliament National Security Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, warned Western countries that any misuse of Iran’s goodwill regarding negotiations will trigger a stronger response than before.

Iranian MP Warns the West: ‘This Time You Will Regret It More Severely

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, sent a sharp warning to Western nations in a post on his personal social media account.

Azizi emphasized that if Western governments continue to exploit Iran’s goodwill in ongoing negotiations and persist with pressure tactics, Tehran’s response will be far harsher and more decisive than in the past.

“We warn countries that abuse Iran's goodwill for ‘dialogue’ and close the doors of diplomacy to themselves: ‘maximum pressure’ never works, and this time they will regret it more than ever,” Azizi stated.

His remarks come amid rising tensions at the United Nations, where the Security Council is preparing to vote on reimposing sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Britain, France, and Germany are pushing to trigger the deal’s controversial snapback mechanism, claiming Iran has failed to meet its obligations.

Under the JCPOA’s dispute resolution process, any party alleging non-compliance by Iran can seek the reinstatement of six previous UN Security Council resolutions adopted between 2006 and 2010. Tehran argues that the European powers cannot invoke the mechanism because they violated the deal first, refusing to offset the impact of the US withdrawal in 2018. Iran maintains that its nuclear adjustments were a measured response to this breach.

Azizi’s warning signals Tehran’s determination to protect its interests, stressing that Western pressure tactics may now carry far more severe consequences than before.
