SAEDNEWS: The new Iranian President has said that Tehran wants to expand relations with all European countries based on friendship, mutual trust and respect.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent phone call between Masoud Pezeshkian and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, significant sentiments regarding international relations were expressed. Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, stated emphatically, "The Islamic Republic of Iran wants to develop relations with all European countries, including Germany, based on friendship, mutual trust and mutual respect."
Highlighting Iran's commitment to the preservation and promotion of regional and global peace, stability, and security, Pezeshkian didn't shy away from addressing pressing issues. He pointed out that the "Zionist regime violates all international treaties and laws by continuing the crime and genocide in Gaza, committing terrorist acts in other countries and posing threats to the security of the region and world peace."
In a clear call to action, he underscored that "the people in the world expect the European countries, especially Germany, to play an effective role in ending the Zionist genocide in Gaza instead of supporting it." This statement reflects not only Iran's position regarding the ongoing conflict but also its hope for a proactive stance from European nations.
Pezeshkian reinforced Iran's openness to engagement and the expansion of relations with all countries. He emphasized the importance of resolving problems through negotiation, while firmly stating, "Iran will never give in to pressure, sanctions, coercion and aggression." He further declared that Iran reserves the right to respond to aggressors according to international law.
In response, Chancellor Scholz congratulated Pezeshkian on his recent presidential election victory and expressed Germany's interest in fostering stronger ties with Iran. He reiterated Germany's commitment to creating peace and security in the region, emphasizing the pressing need to "immediately stop the war and violence in Gaza and a ceasefire in that region."
This dialogue between Iran and Germany marks a critical juncture in international relations and reflects a mutual desire for peace and cooperation in the face of ongoing global challenges.
