It is suitable for all meals throughout the day and has a special place in the menus of cafes and restaurants these days. While an omelette is a simple dish and its ingredients are usually found in every household, it has many tips and tricks.

In Iran, omelettes are made in different ways with various ingredients, but eggs are the constant ingredient in all of them. Some of the most popular omelettes made in the country include tomato omelette, egg omelette, Shahpouri bean omelette, tuna omelette, vegetable omelette, potato omelette, and more. Pomegranate omelette or Pomegranate Team Khoresh is one of the delicious northern dishes that has a very easy recipe. People from the north of Iran serve it with rice, especially alongside "Kahi Pula" (a traditional northern rice dish), or with bread as an omelette. Ingredients

  • Pomegranate seeds: 1 medium bowl

  • Onion: 1

  • Garlic: 1 clove

  • Sweet pomegranate paste: 1/2 tablespoon

  • Eggs: 2

  • Salt and black pepper: to taste

  • Oil: as needed

Instructions

To make this delicious omelette, first peel and finely chop the onion, then place it in a suitable frying pan with some oil over medium heat until the onion softens and turns golden. After that, add grated garlic along with a bit of salt and black pepper to the onion. Thirty seconds later, add the pomegranate paste. Stir the pomegranate paste for a moment, then add the pomegranate seeds to the pan and mix everything well. Let the mixture sauté for about 5 minutes. Then, break the eggs into the mixture with some space between them and let them cook until the eggs set and cook through. Now your delicious pomegranate omelette is ready to serve. Enjoy!

Important Notes

Pomegranate paste is made from pomegranate seeds and comes in both sour and sweet varieties. Pomegranate paste usually has a dark color but should not be excessively black, which would indicate that the paste has been burnt. A good quality pomegranate paste should not be too thick, and it should not have a sour smell. When making pomegranate omelette, try to buy pomegranate paste from reputable stores or from people who make it at home cleanly. If your pomegranate paste is not thin enough, you can dilute it with vinegar.
