Pasta is often combined with various ingredients to create countless delicious dishes. Some common ones include Penne with Alfredo sauce or Pasta with Pesto. One lesser-known but incredibly delicious variation is Pasta with Avocado and Basil.
In this recipe, I’ll show you how to make pasta with avocado sauce, which includes pasta, basil, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, lemon juice, and avocado. I hope you give it a try at home and enjoy every bite!
Dry Pasta: 227 grams
Ripe Avocado: 1 large
Garlic (minced): 1/4 teaspoon
Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon
Salt: 1/8 teaspoon
Black Pepper (freshly ground): To taste
Tomato: 1 medium
Chives (finely chopped): 1 stalk
Cook the Pasta:
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Be sure to reserve one cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Avocado Sauce:
Peel the avocado, remove the pit, and mash it lightly with a fork in a bowl. Add the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
Add the drained pasta to the avocado sauce and mix well. Then, chop the tomato and add it to the pasta. Stir everything together until the sauce coats the pasta evenly. Finally, sprinkle chopped chives on top and serve.

Colored Bell Peppers (finely chopped): 1/4 cup
Cherry Tomatoes (halved): 1 cup
Avocado: 1
Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon
Garlic: 2 cloves
Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon

Vegetable Oil: As needed
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a pot of water to a boil, adding salt and vegetable oil to prevent the pasta from sticking. Once the water is boiling, add the pasta and cook until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving a bit of the cooking water.
Prepare the Vegetables:
Wash and chop the cherry tomatoes and bell peppers into small pieces.
Make the Avocado Sauce:
In a food processor, combine the chopped basil, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil. Blend until finely chopped and well combined.
Prepare the Avocado:
Wash the avocado, slice it in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the food processor. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and blend until smooth. Mix this avocado puree with the basil, lemon juice, and salt.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Once the pasta is cooked and drained, return it to the bowl. Add the chopped cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, and the prepared avocado sauce. Mix well so the pasta is coated evenly with the sauce.
