Hot chips are one of the most delicious fast food appetizers that come in various flavors. They are high in calories, which is why we can use them not only as an appetizer but also as a full meal. For quick hot chips, you can skip the chip-making process and use store-bought chips. However, we recommend making chips at home to get a better quality and more delicious hot chips. Ingredients for Hot Chips

  • 1 pack of large chips

  • 200 grams of pizza cheese

  • 100 grams of corn

  • 100 grams of ham

  • 1 small bell pepper

  • 100 grams of mushrooms

  • 4 tablespoons of French dressing

  • Thyme, salt, pepper, nutmeg (as needed)

  • 100 grams of Gouda cheese

  • Half a small glass of milk

Instructions for Hot Chips

First, slice the potatoes and fry them in a hot pan without oil to remove any excess moisture. Cut the ham into small cubes or strips as desired. Chop the bell pepper into the smallest possible pieces (since it cooks quickly). Mix the spices to your liking and set aside.

Choose a suitable Pyrex dish, pour the chips into it, and gently press to flatten the surface. Then, pour the French dressing over the chips, followed by the chopped ham, corn, mushrooms, and bell pepper. Add a thick layer of cheese and repeat this process until the ingredients are finished. Then, place it in the oven until the cheese turns golden (make sure to sprinkle the mixed spices over each layer of cheese).

Heat the milk in a milk heater, and once it’s warm, add the cheese, stirring until you have a thick sauce. Season the sauce with salt and pour it over the surface of the hot chips. Enjoy!

Tips and Tricks for Hot Chips

  • Finally, sprinkle some chopped parsley on top of the hot chips for garnish.

  • If you don’t have all the ingredients, you can make this appetizer with just chips and cheese.

  • Using colorful bell peppers will make your dish look more attractive.

  • Chips and cheese can be made in the oven or microwave, so be sure to choose a suitable dish for either method.

  • You can also add mushrooms to the ingredients. Slice the mushrooms very thinly and add them to the chips. If the mushroom slices are too thick, they won’t cook properly, and their moisture will make the chips soggy.

  • Instead of ham, you can use cooked, shredded chicken.

  • Be sure to wash and dry the bell pepper before chopping it. How you chop the bell pepper is up to you—you can cut it into small cubes or thin strips to match the appearance of the ham.

  • Cut the ham into thin strips.

  • Set aside some bell pepper and ham for garnish at the end.

  • When making chips and cheese, you can adjust the ingredients as you like and add anything you prefer.

  • To bake the hot chips in the oven, layer the chips and other ingredients, adding cheese on top. Bake for a few minutes at high temperature until the cheese melts. Then, repeat the layers, topping the dish with cheese, and place it back in the oven until the cheese melts completely (it doesn't need to become golden). Finally, garnish with chopped parsley and sauce.
