SAEDNEWS: British Airways has suspended its flights to Israel until the end of March, while Lufthansa said it was extending the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv to November 10.
According to SAEDNEWS, British Airways has announced that it will suspend all flights to Israel until the end of March 2024. This decision comes amid ongoing safety concerns in the region. A spokesperson for the airline shared in an email that this suspension aims to provide clarity for travelers. They are reaching out to affected customers to discuss options, including full refunds.
In a similar move, Lufthansa has also decided to extend its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, pushing it back to November 10, 2024.
Recently, Israel's main airport, Ben Gurion, briefly closed its airspace but has since resumed normal operations. The airport authority confirmed that both landings and departures are back to normal. The brief closure was prompted by a reported "suspicious object" near the airport, which was resolved in about 30 minutes.
Travelers are encouraged to stay updated on their flight statuses and reach out to their airlines for more information.
