Banana Walnut Cake is one of the delicious and nutritious types of cakes that has a light and spongy texture and an extraordinary flavor. It is considered a popular and favored snack. To fully and step-by-step learn how to make banana walnut cake, stay with us below.
Ingredient | Amount |
---|---|
Bananas | 2 pcs |
Flour | 120 grams |
Sugar | 100 grams |
Butter | 100 grams |
Eggs | 2 pcs |
Baking powder | 1 teaspoon |
Vanilla | ¼ teaspoon |
Cinnamon | 2 teaspoons |
Chopped walnuts and chocolate chips | As needed |
Step 1:
To start making the elegant banana walnut cake, mash the bananas thoroughly in a bowl using a fork. Then add the sugar and stir. Next, add the butter (which should be at room temperature) and mix well until fully combined.
Step 2:
In another bowl, beat the eggs using an electric or hand whisk for 3 to 4 minutes until they lose their raw texture, become fluffy, and turn creamy in color. Then add the eggs to the banana mixture and mix well.
Note: The more you beat the eggs, the fluffier and better the cake will be.
Step 3:
Add vanilla and cinnamon to the mixture and stir well so that their aroma releases and fully blends with the batter, resulting in a smooth and uniform texture.
Step 4:
Sift the flour in a separate bowl to lighten its texture. Then add the baking powder to the flour and sift again to combine them well and make the flour mixture uniform.
Step 5:
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients in several stages. Using a hand whisk, stir in one direction to prevent lumps and to create a smooth, creamy batter.
Step 6:
Chop some walnuts according to your taste and add them to the batter. Also, add chocolate chips as much as you like and stir so they are evenly distributed.
Step 7:
Grease a baking tray or non-stick mold with some liquid oil or butter, or line the mold with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the mold and smooth the surface with a spatula.
Step 8:
Tap the mold several times to release any air bubbles inside the batter. Then place the mold in the oven, which should have been preheated for 10 minutes, and set the oven temperature to 180°C (356°F).
Step 9:
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Do not open the oven door during the first 20 to 30 minutes to avoid the cake from collapsing. After that, check if the cake is baked.
Step 10:
Open the oven and insert a wooden skewer or toothpick into the cake. If it comes out clean without any batter sticking to it, the cake is baked and ready. Then remove it from the oven.
Step 11:
Let the cake cool in the mold at room temperature. After cooling, remove the cake from the mold, place it on a suitable plate, and cut it into the desired size and shape. Finally, decorate the banana walnut cake with chocolate spread, walnut crumbs, and banana slices, and serve it with tea.
