We will teach you how to make jelly and the steps for preparing it, including various types of simple jelly with jelly powder and gelatin powder. The recipe for white jelly is also provided in this article.
Cooked fruit juice jelly with sugar containing gelatin that sets in cold air. Jelly is a type of dessert and a collagen product, also known as gelatin. Jelly was first introduced in the 18th century in the cookbook The Art of Cookery by Hannah Glass. Nowadays, jelly is mostly found in powder form, which needs to be mixed with cold and warm water and placed in the refrigerator. Since gelatin is used in this substance, vegetarians avoid eating it, as it is made from the collagen of animal skin and bones.
Ingredients for White Jelly:
2 packs of Aloe Vera jelly
1 1/2 cups of milk
2 cups of boiling water
1 tablespoon of sugar (optional)
How to make White Jelly:
In a bowl, mix the Aloe Vera jelly and sugar, and add 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved. To help the jelly dissolve better, place the bowl over steam from a kettle to create a double-boiler effect, which results in a smooth and clear jelly.
Once the jelly is fully dissolved, leave it to cool at room temperature. Place the milk nearby so both the jelly and milk reach the same temperature. If you have a cooking thermometer, measure their temperature; otherwise, use your finger to check. Once they are at the same temperature, add the milk to the jelly. Whisk for 30 seconds with an electric mixer or for 1 minute with a hand whisk to blend them well.
Strain the jelly mixture through a sieve to remove any suspended milk particles, ensuring the mixture is completely smooth. Pour the jelly mixture into the desired mold and refrigerate for 1 to 1.5 hours until set. Once ready, decorate it with colored trifle, syrup, or any other ingredient to enhance its appearance.
Ingredients for White Jelly with Ice Cream:
1 pack of Aloe Vera jelly powder
2 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream
1 cup of boiling water
How to make White Jelly with Ice Cream:
Pour the jelly powder into a bowl and add 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until the jelly powder is completely dissolved in the water.
Add the ice cream, which has been left out for 3-4 minutes to soften, to the mixture. A key note is not to stir too much after adding the ice cream; let it melt into the mixture with the heat.
Pour the jelly into the desired mold and place it in the refrigerator to set.
Note: Jelly made with ice cream sets more quickly than jelly made with milk.
You can also make a beautiful "shard jelly" or "mosaic jelly" with white jelly. After the colored jelly sets, cut it into small pieces, place the jelly pieces of various colors into another dish, and pour the white jelly over them. The result is visually stunning.
Key Tips for Making White Jelly:
To speed up the setting of your jelly, dissolve a tablespoon of sugar with the jelly powder in boiling water.
If you're in a hurry, you can place the jelly mold in the freezer for 10 minutes before putting it in the refrigerator to speed up the setting process.
To easily remove jelly from a mold, grease the mold lightly with some oil.
You can make white jelly using almond milk instead of regular milk.
