SAEDNEWS: At a Tehran press briefing, Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir revealed that 935 Iranian “martyrs” have been identified—among them 38 children and 102 women—following what Tehran brands a US‑supported Israeli campaign of aggression.

Iran’s Judiciary Claims 935 Civilians Slain in “US‑Backed” Israeli Onslaught — Including 38 Children

According to Saed News, Asghar Jahangir, spokesman for Iran’s Judiciary, announced on July 1 that the death toll from the recent 12‑day conflict has reached 935, citing data from the Forensic Medicine Organization. Of those killed, 38 were children and 102 were women—some pregnant—inclusive of 79 victims at Evin Prison, where relatives of inmates, aid workers and prison staff were struck down in a single strike.

Jahangir insisted that the “illegitimate Zionist regime” launched a “blatant and unprovoked aggression” on June 13, targeting high‑ranking commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians alike. He condemned subsequent US airstrikes on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites as “grave violations” of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT. “The whole world witnessed that Iran was attacked in the midst of negotiations,” Jahangir asserted, lauding Tehran’s “legitimate self‑defense” and pledging a “necessary and proportionate response” to any future hostility.

Beyond the battlefield, he described a failed attempt to sow chaos through public unrest and targeted assassinations. “Relying on mercenaries, spies and sabotage networks, the enemy sought to undermine our internal security,” he said, crediting vigilant citizens and judicial authorities for identifying and detaining numerous infiltrators. He further praised the “wise guidance” of Ayatollah Khamenei in swiftly appointing successors to slain commanders and scientists.

In reprisal, Iranian forces struck strategic positions across occupied territories and launched missiles at al‑Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the US’s largest West Asian foothold—ultimately compelling both Israel and the United States to cease their “illegal aggression” by June 24. This narrative underscores Tehran’s portrayal of unified national resolve in the face of external threats.
