SAEDNEWS: Russia is actively working to prevent a significant conflict in West Asia, according to Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian Presidential Special Envoy for West Asia and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister.

Russia Seeks to Avert Major Conflict in West Asia

According to SAEDNEWS, "We are making every effort to prevent the region from sliding into the abyss of a major war, to break this vicious circle of endless retaliatory strikes," Bogdanov said. He emphasized the importance of diplomacy and communication among all parties involved to avoid actions that could escalate tensions further.

"A catastrophic scenario is not in the interests of countries in the Near and West Asia. I am convinced that the key to long-term stability is the swift prevention of further bloodshed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone and the establishment of conditions for a political and diplomatic resolution," he added.

The situation has been tense recently. On October 26, Israel reported airstrikes targeting military sites in Iran. The Iranian military claimed some facilities in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam were hit but stated that Israel’s attacks caused limited damage, thanks to the effectiveness of their air defense systems.

Earlier, on October 1, Iran carried out a significant missile attack on Israel. This attack was a response to the killing of senior members of the Palestinian group Hamas, the Lebanese group Hezbollah, and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran's Leader, Ali Khamenei, has warned that such attacks on Israel could escalate further.

As the situation evolves, Russia continues to call for calm and cooperation among nations in the region.
