Lily Collins: Filming 'Emily in Paris' Season 4 in Italy Felt Like a Holiday

According to SAEDNEWS, The stars of Netflix's beloved series Emily in Paris have exciting news for fans: part two of the fourth season is set to take the crew on a delightful journey to Italy!

Lily Collins, who brilliantly portrays the titular character Emily, shared her enthusiasm about filming in Rome, calling it a “holiday” for the cast and crew. In her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she remarked, “Being in Rome was so amazing. It was the most special way for us to end this season with the crew because it felt like a holiday. The culture there is just so warm and welcoming, the streets are paved with so much history, and the food is so wonderful.”

Lily also noted how transitioning from Paris to Rome maintained the show’s European charm. “It was so great to go from Paris to Rome because you are still in Europe, feeling that romance and passion, but you get to experience a different part of history, which was really fun.”

Show creator Darren Star echoed her sentiments, highlighting the refreshing atmosphere of filming in Italy, especially after the wintery shoots in Paris. “It’s like the sun came out fresh in Rome when we got there. It was just a whole different experience, like starting something fresh. It kind of reinvigorated all of us,” he shared, emphasizing the positive energy the new location brought to the production.

As for the storyline, Season Four follows Emily as she navigates the complexities of her love life, caught between Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, and Alfie, portrayed by Lucien Laviscount. Meanwhile, her professional journey at the luxury marketing agency Agence Grateau continues, alongside her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) and colleagues Julien and Luc (Samuel Arnold and Bruno Gouery).

Critics have had mixed reviews; Katie Rosseinsky from The Independent gave part one of the season two stars, describing it as “low-stakes fluff that ends with a Gallic shrug.” She noted that Emily's polished version of Paris feels almost too perfect, declaring, "While the show’s silliness has a certain limited charm, the cumulative effect is akin to eating too much sugar too quickly: it leaves you feeling a bit queasy and vowing to swear off this stuff in future.”

Fans of Emily in Paris can catch part one currently streaming on Netflix, while part two is set to debut on September 12. Get ready for another stylish season filled with romance, drama, and of course, gorgeous European backdrops!
