SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Under-17 Greco-Roman Wrestling Team dominated the World Championships in Jordan, securing 3 gold and 3 bronze medals to claim the world title.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran’s Under-17 Greco-Roman Wrestling Team has once again established its dominance on the global stage by clinching the world title at the Junior World Championships held in Amman, Jordan from August 19 to 21.
The Iranian team showcased their prowess, finishing the competition with an impressive haul of three gold medals and three bronze medals. This victory marks a successful title defense for Iran, which previously claimed the championship in the prior season.
The gold medals were won by standout athletes Armin Shamsipour in the 48 kg category, Amir Mahdi Saeidi Nava in the 65 kg category, and Danial Izadi competing in the 92 kg weight class. Not to be outdone, the team also brought home bronze medals from Abolfazl Karami (51 kg), Emadreza Mohsen-Nejad (80 kg), and Ali Asghar Dadbakhsh (110 kg).
In the final team rankings, Iran emerged at the top with an impressive score of 140 points. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan followed closely, rounding out the top three with 113 and 105 points, respectively.
The achievement of the Iranian wrestlers reflects not just their individual dedication and talent but also the rigorous training and support provided by their coaches and federation.
