SAEDNEWS: The U.S. President spoke about diplomacy with Iran and once again claimed that Tehran wants to engage in talks with Washington.
According to the Political Service of Saed News U.S. President Donald Trump says diplomacy remains an option regarding Iran.
In an interview with Axios, he claimed: “They want to reach an agreement, I know that. They have called many times. They want to negotiate.”
At the same time, informed sources say Trump has not yet made a final decision regarding Iran. He will likely hold further consultations this week, and additional military options will also be presented to him.
He refrained from discussing the options his national security team has presented to him or indicating which option he prefers.
Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding American threats, said: “As we have shown before, we will certainly respond decisively, with full capacity and comprehensively, to any aggression and any threat.”
U.S. officials told Axios that any agreement with Iran must include the complete removal of all enriched uranium from Iran, setting a cap on Iran’s long-range missile stockpiles, changing Iran’s policy of supporting resistance forces in the region, and prohibiting independent uranium enrichment within the country.
Iran has repeatedly stated that it is only willing to discuss its nuclear program and will not negotiate on extraneous issues, particularly defense matters.
