According to the Saed News Society Service, on the evening of Saturday, June 11, Yasmin Moghbeli shared these images on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, writing: “Recently, I posed for a few photos while trying on the SpaceX spacesuit.”
Emphasizing the importance of a well-fitted spacesuit that performs reliably in different conditions, Moghbeli added, “Seeing my name stitched onto the suit was also a good reminder of how close we are to launch!”
The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) officially selected Yasmin Moghbeli last April as mission commander for the SpaceX flight to the International Space Station.
This will be Moghbeli’s first space mission; she has been with NASA since 2017. In collaboration with NASA, SpaceX plans to send four astronauts to the International Space Station using the Dragon spacecraft aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida by mid-August.
